- Transmission rate In terms of transmission rate, PoE switches are divided into 100M and 1000M. Generally, the performance of 100M PoE switch is better than that of 100M PoE switch. Therefore, when choosing, you should choose whether to buy a 100M PoE switch with better performance according to the overall situation and needs of the network.
- Manageability PoE switches are also divided into managed and unmanaged types. Unmanaged types are relatively simple, mainly providing PoE power supply ports, which can be used without configuration. The managed PoE switch not only provides PoE power supply, but also can flexibly configure the port power supply time and priority, and formulate a more reasonable power supply plan. Therefore, when choosing, the required switch type should be determined according to actual needs and management requirements.
- Power supply standard When selecting a PoE switch, you need to determine the power supply protocol supported by the powered end (such as AP or IPC), including 802.3af, 802.3at or non-standard PoE. It is crucial to ensure that the PoE power supply protocol supported by the switch is consistent with the powered end. According to the 802.3af standard, the output power of a single port of a PoE switch is 15.4W; and according to the 802.3at standard, the input power of a single port of a PoE switch is 30W. Therefore, for powered devices with higher power, it is recommended to use a PoE switch that complies with the 802.3at standard.
